Skin care products are naturally of vital importance in the quest to achieve flawless and enviable skin. Quality moisturizers, eye creams, lip balms and body lotions will help to keep your skin well hydrated, smooth, soft and supple, as well as delaying the signs of aging. Johnson’s Beauty Skin Care guide will give you comprehensive knowledge of how to achieve great looking skin and inform you about the quality products that will help you step out with confidence and a radiant glow.

Although similar to every aspect of our health and well-being, the condition of your skin is considerably influenced by your lifestyle. The things we put in our bodies have a significant effect on the appearance of our skin, particularly the things that we eat. Take a look at these top foods for flawless, youthful and gorgeous skin:

Citrus Fruit

Vitamin C is one of the most potent vitamins to help maintain great health, leaving us with youthful, radiant and problem-free skin. High levels of vitamin C can be found in oranges, lemons, grapefruits, tomatoes, and kiwi fruit. This powerful vitamin helps enhance the body’s production of collagen. At approximately the age of 35, the collagen in the skin starts to breakdown, leaving the skin looking saggier. In producing collagen, vitamin C helps to make the skin tighter, fighting the signs of aging.

Green Vegetables

We all know that green, leafy vegetables are great for our overall health, but did you know they are great for your skin too? They contain high levels of vitamin A, which helps the skin shed old cells and produce new ones, reducing dryness and leave your skin healthy and glowing.

Fish and Seafood

Fish and seafood is generally great for your health, and many types of fish and seafood can also work wonders on your skin- particularly oily fish such as salmon and mackerel. Fish and seafood are great for our skin because they contain high levels of zinc and omega-3 fatty acids. Consuming a lot of zinc and omega-3 has been linked to reducing inflammation of the skin, which can cause your skin to age faster. In helping to keep the arteries unclogged, zinc and omega-3 also increase the flow of blood around the body, which is also good for the condition of your skin.

Playing Housewife: Creative Meals Using Basmati Rice That He’ll Think Took You All Day

If you’re like me, you do the cooking and the cleaning in your relationship, but you’d rather shop for trendy cooking gadgets than actually use them. You may purchase cookbooks for their pretty covers, collect colorful aprons to use as décor, and have a cabinet filled with mix-matched dishes too formal for any occasion you’ve encountered. You may not be a celebrity chef, but you don’t have to let your significant other find out that his dinner took 30 minutes to prepare- not all day.

The trick to creating the illusion of time and effort is to plan creative meals with simple ingredients. Basmati rice is a great ingredient to have on-hand because it’s versatile and can be used in many quick, easy, and delicious dishes. Rice can be combined with any source of protein, any kind of produce, anytime of year to create a meal that reflects what’s on sale at your local grocery store or in season. Rice’s benefits are endless: it’s inexpensive, has a long shelf life, and can be prepared quickly and easily using either a microwave or skillet. Two of my favorite dishes include rice, and can be prepared in less than 30 minutes, or can cook unsupervised in a slow cooker or crockpot.

Possibly the easiest recipe to create with rice is stir-fry. All you need is a few slices of cut up sirloin (one large steak can even feed 2 people), sliced green peppers and onions, rice, and a little soy sauce and you can create a quick meal that’s filling and delicious. Just cook the sliced steak in a pan until done, cook sliced green peppers and onions in a separate pan until translucent, combine with microwaved rice, and add a little soy sauce to taste.

One of my favorite recipes of all time, lemon chicken with rice, requires a slow cooker and brings back fond memories of my childhood. My mom would always season 3 boneless chicken breasts- skin removed- with salt and pepper in a skillet in butter, and then transfer the chicken breasts to the slow cooker. Next she poured ¼ cup of water, 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, and 2 cloves of minced garlic into the skillet, brought the liquid to a boil, and then poured it over the chicken in the slow cooker. Cover your slow cooker and let it go for 3 to 4 hours the juices of the chicken run clear. To add some extra finishing touches, I always serve the chicken over warm, cooked rice, and garnish with a little parsley and a few lemon slices.
Keep rice in your pantry and you’ll always have a creative solution to embellish your meals!

Looking for a Replacement Washing Machine?

The washing machine is one of the most important appliances in the home. It can, therefore, be a bit of a disaster if it breaks – causing a back up of laundry large enough to upset even your average teenager.

Because the washing machine is so vital to our home, we are often in a huge hurry to replace it, should it break. But whilst it makes sense to get a new machine as soon as possible, there are a few factors that should be considered before rushing out to make a purchase.

Firstly, we ought to consider how green a machine is. We’ve got used to thinking about our carbon footprint in so many aspects of daily life, and our choice of washing machine should, by no means, be an exception.

Think about what the average sized load is in your house, and about the largest items you are likely to wash. This will allow you to determine the perfect sized machine. If you opt for too large a machine, you will unnecessarily waste water and energy. Similarly, if your machine is too small, you will find yourself running more washes than you need to make up for it. Getting the size right is imperative.

It is also worth looking for a machine that alters the amount of water used, depending on the weight of the load. This not only reduces the amount of water wastage, but will also, ultimately, see a reduction in the size of your utility bills.

After the stress of having to deal with a broken machine, you will surely be looking for a reliable model. Look to well-known brands which are built to a higher quality. A Hooverwashing machine is likely to outlast a supermarket’s own brand. Try not to be drawn in by ridiculously low prices – a cheap machine is likely to end up costing you a lot more than you expect in the long run.

When buying a new machine, make sure to dispose of your old machine responsibly. If you do a little research, you may well learn that there is a local recycling service which can arrange collection from your home. If you are unsure about what to do with your broken machine, get in touch with your local council for more information.
