Runway to Room: Jill Stuart Spring/Summer 2012

When you go about the task of decorating a brand new house from scratch, it can be difficult to know where to start. Instead of looking for the exact items I will use to decorate, I keep a folder on my computer filled with hundreds of images that inspire me. I may save photos of a piece of artwork, editorials from fashion magazines, photos from the runway, or in this case, both.

I'm completely smitten with Jill Stuart's Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The pastel candy color palette is delicate, romantic, and feminine. The entire collection showcases a flowy modern silhouette with sheer pleated dresses and quilted skirts and jackets.

I've got to say that I was a little hesitant when I first saw this bright coral/orange red color. Now that I've seen the color utilized-not only effectively but enchantingly- in Swoon Worthy's dining room, I'm more willing to give the shade a chance in my home.
