When I get back from High Point I really need to work on setting up my home office. I have the challenge of not being allowed to paint my walls (and they are this ugly yellow-beige color) but I have a lot of wall decor ideas to distract myself. I love Emily's office from Cupcakes and Cashmere. It's actually what I envisioned for my office before I even saw her pictures!

It's a very feminine space. Since this is the only area of the house that's "mine," it's the only place I really want to use any pink.
I really want to use a white West Elm Parsons Desk and a Ghost Chair. I need a garment rack like the Mulig Clothes Rack from Ikea for clothing and inspiration for Poppy Magazine. I also want to make a large pin-board by stapling wallpaper to a cork-board and framing it since I work on so many projects at a time (this is the extent of my DIY abilities.) It will definitely have to be bigger than the ones pictured below...

I already have a great chandelier- the Kristaller from Ikea- I've just been trying to decide where to put it.
I also have an amazing watercolor by the ridiculously talented Cate Parr (visit her Etsy shop, silverridgestudio) to put up.

The print is 24" x 36" so it takes up the perfect amount of space.
I'll probably put up some picture ledges from Ikea as well to display my favorite fashion/interior design books and the latest magazines. Some framed inspirational quotes on procrastination couldn't hurt either!

At the end of the day, I have a futon to pass out on with some great pillows by LeiLiLaLoo.

Or... I could always wander 20 feet to my bedroom.

I LOVE the framed toile. It is so chic and classic. Not too over the top or anything, but adds some fun. I think it would look great in any office.

ReplyDeleteHome office gives you some privacy. If you are working from home, your family knows not to disturb you if you are in the home office. That can help you to finish your work much more quickly if you can avoid distracting interruptions.
ReplyDeleteYour room office looks so organized and now it's much cleaner. I just recently cleaned my room too but I need chimney cleaning in Long Island to help me with my fireplace.
ReplyDeleteYour place looks definitely clean, I sure that your pretty exited to work already.
ReplyDeleteYour office is too cute to be true! I love your choice of wallpaper and furniture. Not to mention these awesome decors. Once we have shopped for home office furniture, I'll redesign my space to be as cute as yours.
ReplyDeleteIt's a cute studio unit with a simple home office. I bet you bought that nice chair from the office furniture in NYC because it's very posh and modern.
